This cowling was removed from a 2006 Mercury 225 HP Optimax, 6 cylinder, 2 stroke, direct fuel injected, 20 inch outboard. Engine SN- 1B244154 Overall this cowling is in good shape. It appears that someone has redone the decals before and possibly paint. The decals say “Pro XS” but it was installed on regular Optimax. It will fit either. It is a lightweight cowling as opposed to the heavy fiberglass models that look just like this one. These parts may fit other years and models. Please verify before purchasing. 2024

This cowl came off of a 2008 mercury 225 hp Optimax 3.0L . There are light scratches and imperfections in the cowl. Most of them are very hard to see. it is not perfect but for a 2008 cowl it is in great shape. It does have one small crack at the bottom that I have taken a picture of. The decals are in OK shape. The part number is from Marine Engine after running the serial number on the motor. The 8M number is pictured. I am not sure exactly what all year models this will fit. Please make sure this is the exact cowl you need before purchasing because I do not take returns on cowls due to the size and cost of shipping. If you have any questions, please ask.
